Hello

My name is Liz Scully

I'm an award-winning producer and content creator with a background spanning commercials, branded content, film, and television. I've produced content for brands such as Kohl's, Hillshire Farms, Kia, Bass Pro Shops, & the San Diego Zoo and collaborated with creative agencies and digital companies such as M&C Saatchi, VML, and PopSugar, to name a few. I launched my career in Los Angeles working for feature film companies including Mandalay Pictures, Signature Pictures and Marc Platt Productions. I'm also an independent filmmaker and content creator and have produced, directed, and/or written a number of independent films, pilots, animated series, and documentaries.  In my free time you'll find me searching for fresh powder, playing music, and adventuring around the world with my husband and daughter.

San Diego Zoo

San Diego Zoo

One of most complicated and demanding shoots I have produced. 4 crews working simultaneously, 3 of which were on extremely tight schedules around animal events at the Zoo. The 4th crew was picking up people across San Diego and shuttling them to the zoo where our 3 zoo-based crews were meeting them. Extremely difficult schedule with almost no wiggle room. I built and managed the complicated schedule, budgeted, oversaw casting, crews, and worked directly with M&C Saatchi and the SD Zoo Safari Park throughout development, production and post. My team also custom outfitted a safari truck for the production. To top it off, I ate a bad tuna fish sandwich the day before the shoot and had food poisoning on shoot day! All in all, very proud of the outcome.

Hillshire Farm - Fancy Snacking

I produced this commercial and activation for Hillshire Farm's Fancy Snacking campaign. This was a rewarding yet very challenging shoot due to high profile locations including the Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade and the Venice Beach Boardwalk, a complicated prop vending machine that we had built from scratch, as well as SAG casting mixed with on-the-fly off the street talent.

I produced and directed this commercial for Kohl's. I oversaw casting, production design, location, permits, crew assembly, editing and post production.
Mr. Steak / Bass Pro Shops

Mr. Steak / Bass Pro Shops

This was a very fun shoot in Hawaii, but also quite challenging due to Maui being very expensive and equipment, props, and gear being scarce. We flew in a 4 person skeleton crew and used our local knowledge of the area to scour the island for all the best locations. I executive produced and directed this for Bass Pro Shops and the Mr. Steak brand. I managed casting, crew, travel, locations, prop procurement, permits, and insurance. I directed talent and worked very closely with Bass Pro Shops and Mr. Steak executives throughout the process.

I produced this docu-style brand anthem for Oregon. We shot in multiple remote locations in Upper Peninsula Michigan and Indiana.

I produced and directed several activations and promos for Spike Network's television series "Frankenfood." The activations included following a Frankenfood Food Truck across Manhattan and Philadelphia, capturing real-life tasters as they consumed wacky concoctions that the show's hosts dished out.

Narrative Work

Liz is a master Swiss army knife. Her insight, expertise, and organization are unparalleled. She single handedly kept our production on track and without question I will be working with her on every single project I can in the future.
